AGAR was recently recognized by the Commonwealth Institute as one of the "Top 100" Women-led businesses in Massachusetts. The Taunton-based supplier of meats, seafood, grocery and non-food items came in at number two (2) on the prestigious list of Massachusetts-based businesses. Each year, The Commonwealth Institute partners with the Center for Women\'s Leadership at Babson College to conduct a study that identifies the Top 100 Woman-Led Businesses in Massachusetts, based on company revenues.
Agar Supply also received the Vendor of the Year award during the 2007 Stars of the Industry Awards ceremony from the Rhode Island Hospitality and Tourism Association. The Stars of the Industry Awards, presented by the Rhode Island Hospitality and Tourism Association, recognizes the outstanding achievements of members of the hospitality, foodservice and tourism industries. Award recipients were chosen not only for their dedication and contributions to their careers, but for their involvement in their local communities.
Ernst & Young LLP has awarded the influential Ernst & Young Entrepreneur Of The YearŽ 2007 Award in the New England region to Karen Bressler, CEO of Agar Supply. Ms Bressler has been awarded this prestigious recognition in the manufacturing and distribution category. Ms. Bressler, while at the national ceremony in Palm Springs this past November, was inducted into the Ernst & Young Entrepreneur Of The Year Hall of Fame. The Ernst & Young Entrepreneur Of The YearŽ Hall of Fame is an elite corps of men and women who have been recognized for their exceptional entrepreneurial achievements.
